Frontline Education Successfully Completes Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 Report

New SOC 2 – Type 2 report builds on the Type 1 certification by extending examination period to prove continuous compliance

 
Malvern, Pa. – July 19, 2018 – Frontline Education, an integrated insights partner to more than 12,000 educational organizations representing over 80,000 schools nationwide, today announced that it has successfully completed a Service Organization Controls (SOC 2) Type 2 examination across its entire solutions platform. This builds on the SOC 2 Type 1 report that Frontline completed earlier this year, covering security of customer systems and industry standard security criteria as defined by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The SOC 2 Type 2 examination for the security principles was performed by Grant Thornton LLP, one of the country’s top audit firms. The scope of the review covered all core Frontline Education solutions and products, including Recruiting & Hiring, Absence & Time, Professional Growth, Special Education, Frontline Central and the Frontline Insights Platform.

Frontline Education’s SOC 2 assessment was the first of its kind in K-12 human capital management, providing assurance that Frontline security programs are effectively designed and uniquely capable of managing cybersecurity risk.  The SOC 2 Type 2 report features an extended examination process to collect evidence proving continuous adherence over an 8-month period.

Exceeding regulatory requirements while preserving client control over their proprietary data is essential to Frontline Education’s partnership with educational organizations. Frontline also conducts regular threat assessments and ongoing system-wide monitoring to help protect client data. Additionally, Frontline is a Student Privacy Pledge signatory and has designed its security program to comply with the security elements of FERPA, HIPAA/HITECH and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Frontline Education’s SOC 2 report is available to clients and partners upon request and completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
